Shikhor Model High School began in 1998 in a rented two-storey house in Sector 7, Uttara. A group of teachers and parents wanted a school where classes stayed small enough for every child to be known by name — sixty children joined in the first year.
Growing with Uttara
As the neighbourhood grew, so did the school. The present campus in Sector 10 opened in 2006 with science laboratories, a library and a proper playground. Classes Nine and Ten were added in 2008, and the first SSC batch sat the Dhaka Board examination in 2010 with a 100% pass rate.
Milestones
- 1998 – the school opens with Class One to Five
- 2006 – move to the Sector 10 campus
- 2010 – first SSC batch under the Dhaka Board
- 2016 – 40-seat ICT laboratory and projectors in every classroom
- 2021 – SMS attendance alerts and online results for guardians
- 2026 – 28 years of teaching, with more than 850 students
What has not changed
Our founders' promise still guides us: small sections, caring teachers, honest assessment and a close partnership with families. We are proud of our SSC results, but prouder still of the people our students become.
